Nuntius brings native iOS 8 Quick reply to WhatsApp

Wednesday 7 January 2015

One of the best things about using the Messages application on iOS interface 8 is the quick reply. Unfortunately, third-party applications can not access the API rapid response, so limited in this respect. Would not it be nice if one of your favorite messaging application has access to real native iOS 8 quick answer? That is the exact premise behind Nuntius, a new jailbreak tweak brand that brings true native iOS 8 Quick reply to WhatsApp.

Once you install Nuntius just start working. Obviously, you will need to have WhatsApp installed and signed in, but once you do, you will see the interface as quick response message is received from a friend.

No options or settings to configure for Nuntius, in fact, no preference panel to tweak found in the application configuration settings. This trick is a real appearance of plug and play.

If you are a user of WhatsApp, it is difficult to find a reason not be excited Nuntius. The trick is currently in beta now, so can not be found in Cydia repositories default, but can be had by adding the following repo to your Cydia sources list.

Once you add the repository, just install the package Nuntius sharedRoutine the developer to get started. What do you think about having native iOS 8 Quick reply to WhatsApp?

iOS adoption rate of 8 jumps to 68% of iOS devices

Wednesday 7 January 2015

According to the own App Store support page Apple distribution, 68% of iOS devices are now running iOS 8. The adoption rate has increased by 4 percentage points from its last updated on December 22. Meanwhile, not surprisingly, iOS 7 adoption rate has dropped by 3 percentage points, representing only 29% of the installed base, while previous versions of iOS are still at 4%.

Those doing the math at home will be quick to notice that the numbers do not add up. In fact, if the numbers add up showed above, amounting to 101%, an error most likely due to a difficult round numbers. Still, we have the full picture.

These numbers are almost corroborated by research firm Mixpanel, iOS pins 8 69.93% adoption in devices with iOS 7 trailing behind in 27.86% and software versions representing 2.21%. This is a small discrepancy can probably be explained by the fact that Mixpanel statistics are almost in real time, while Apple's own statistics are already a day ago.

This nice little jump in iOS eight adoption rate in the last month is probably due to the holiday season just ended. Is expected to be another record quarter for Apple, this holiday season probably saw many users are provided with a new iOS device, probably leaving their older, hence the marked increase in August iOS adoption.

By comparison, in the same period last year, iOS 7 was installed on 78% of the devices, a fairly large difference that has been a constant problem since the release of iOS 8. The fact that iOS 8 needs about 2 GB free storage devices to be downloaded and installed probably still contributes to slower adoption rate. But if you're one of those people who like to look at the glass half full, these figures are still outstanding when it comes to the rate of adoption for a mobile device.
