Samsung S2 Galaxy Tab features 8-inch models and 9.7 inches; come next month

Shortly after its flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and amid reports the new iteration Galaxy Note, Samsung has announced its new models silent S2 Galaxy Tab.

Tab Galaxy S2 available in sizes 8 inches and 9.7 inches by 5.6 mm, weighing 265 grams and 389 grams respectively. Samsung Tab S2 called his "thinner and lighter" in that size tablet.

"The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet ever its size, but also gives users quick and easy access to a wealth of display characteristics and higher productivity," said JK Shin, CEO and President IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics.

Both models sport Super AMOLED displays with 2048 x 1536 resolution. Tablet promises deeper contrast and more accurate detail of the Super AMOLED screen by delivering 94 percent of natural tones to show how real colors (Adobe RGB color standard) life.


Needless to say, both models run the latest Android 5.0 lollipop, and under the hood, expect octa-core processor. The devices include 3 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear snapper, 2.1MP front camera.

Interestingly, Samsung has done everything possible with the new tablets with fingerprint scanner and the ability to run two applications simultaneously on the screen. Needless to say Tab S2 models will be competing with the now failing the Apple iPad.

With the option of storing 32 GB and 64 GB, both models are available in Wi-Fi, as well as variants Wi-Fi + LTE. There is a microSD card slot that will allow you to expand storage up to 128 GB. The tablet comes preloaded with Microsoft Office Solutions and can store up to 100 GB of files in the cloud via onedrive for two years for free. It is also compatible with advanced keyboard cover book that offers the same comfort of a standard PC keyboard with a built-in trackpad.


Connectivity options include Wi-Fi Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 and GLONAAS BLE. 4000mAh battery complete the package.

No word on pricing yet, but expect the devices to hit stores sometime in August.
